Meet a Longtime Dentist Dedicated to His Patients’ Health & Well-Being<\/h1>
\r\n

Dr. Shawn Walls is a firm believer that the cornerstone of any successful business is integrity. He has built his dental practice on a foundation of trust, knowing that trust is established over a long period of time. Patients are never pressured here.\u00a0 He believes that dentistry is health care, above all else.\u00a0 His favorite part of the job is problem-solving. Whether it is a complex treatment plan or difficult diagnosis that requires thought and planning, he finds it gratifying to complete treatment in a way that exceeds his patients’ expectations. He wants his patients to trust him to care for their health, not try to sell them on products and services. He and his team always strive to provide exceptional customer service and high-quality treatment.<\/p>\n

\"\"A Dallas native, he graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1980. Dr. Walls first became interested in dentistry when he was a teenager undergoing orthodontic treatment. He learned firsthand the difference that dentistry could make while he was being treated by his dentist, who was also a family friend. In addition, he inherited some of the artistic ability of his father, an architect. He found that dentistry was a good combination of art and science. He played football for four years while attending Louisiana Tech University, and graduated cum laude in 1984. He received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1988. He then completed a general practice residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in 1989. He has been in private practice in the Atlanta area since 1989. He was named a 2023 Top Dentist by Atlanta Magazine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Despite his many years of experience, Dr. Walls routinely takes continuing education courses in all areas of dentistry to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and materials. He earned a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry<\/a>, after completing many hours of continuing education and passing a rigorous exam. As a Qualified Dentist with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, he has demonstrated his ability to treat sleep-disordered breathing, including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.<\/p>\n

Dr. Walls values time with his family and enjoys sharing new experiences with them. He has been happily married to his wife, Carol, since 1987. She is an Atlanta native, a graduate of Berry College, and a former Delta Air Lines flight attendant. They have a daughter, Emily, and a son, Jackson. Dr. Walls is a runner and enjoys training for and participating in marathons. He has run a marathon with Emily, and the two of them climbed Mount Rainier together in 2017. He also enjoys playing golf with Jackson. His other hobbies include gravel bike riding and trout fishing. He and Carol treasure time spent with their granddaughter. Their family attends Passion City Church in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

I have been using Dr.Walls and his team for 20 years now. My parents still use him, my sister who lives in DC will come for specialty care when necessary. He\u2019s definitely a \u201cfamily\u201d practice but on the high end with dental work. I personally haven\u2019t had more than teeth cleanings, occasional fillings or chipped teeth filled and smile restored to its previous glory!\r\nI\u2019ve tried a dental practice or two over 20 years for a free bleaching or something with a cleaning and was always told i needed more work, drugs and surgery! My reply both times was \u201c I have a family dentist and I am going to get a second opinion before we go any further here\u201d! I had all the \u201cfindings\u201d sent to Dr.Walls and came in for consult and was told the truth. That I needed nothing that these Spa Dental practices were telling me. Some extra cleaning on my next visit. Nothing more! Yes, I have strayed away for freebies over the years but when it came to honesty, integrity and great service, I now drive 45 minutes in rush hour from Buckhead to see him. And have been for years.
